The One Who Will Go Before (Luke 1:5-25)

In this passage, we see an exceptional couple whose righteousness is beyond reproach. Yet one thing they lack: a child. In providing that child, God will not just answer the prayers of this couple; he’ll begin to answer the prayers of his people. How? Their child will become a forerunner and foreteller—the final prophet of the Old who points to the bringer of the New. And we’ll learn from their story what it looks like for us to trust God to do big things, not just in us but through us.
