At the height of their rebellion, the upper crust of Israel oppressed the poor and used religion to ease their guilty consciences. In tonight’s sermon, we’ll learn how ultimately futile it is to turn to rote religious practice as a balm for our souls. We need something better, and we have it in Christ.
