When We Try to Keep God’s Promises For Him (Genesis 12:10-12:20)
Abram was uniquely blessed by God, but that does not mean he was immune from the everyday failings of sinful human beings on this side of glory. Today, we see him remember God’s promise yet forget that God was more than capable of keeping His promise. When Abram takes matters into his own hands, we see a remarkably foolish and dangerous course of events unfold. Yet God is faithful, even when we are faithless. He rescues Abram and his wife from their unbelief, and sets them back on a course that heads straight toward the fulfillment of His promises.
