A Woe to Those Who Are at Ease (Amos 6:1-14)
The worst thing we can do is ignore the signs of danger that surround us. In today’s passage, Amos pronounces a woe upon those elites who would rather eat, drink, and be merry than heed God’s many calls to repent and restore justice to Israel. We, too, are called to recognize the truth about our predicament and, instead of ignoring it, run to God for the mercy He has already freely extended in Jesus Christ.
