A Toehold in the Land (Genesis 23)
In this chapter, Abraham negotiates with a Hittite man for a piece of land and cave in which he could bury his wife, Sarah. This may seem mundane, but God uses this negotiation to give his people another little slice of the land where, in death, the faithful patriarchs can go to “await” the fullness of the inheritance to come.
