When the Right Do Wrong and the Wrong Do Right (Genesis 20)
Sometimes, Old Testament saints give us whiplash! Today, we will see righteous Abraham act in a thoroughly unrighteous way and the unbelieving king, Abimelech, surprise us with his morality. What we’ll learn, though, is that the ultimate reason why this “wrong” ruler was able to do right wasn’t because he was a moral man; it was because God was working to restrain His sin and to protect His people—even when it looks like they forfeit any right to His protection.
