The Mighty Babylon Has Fallen (Isa 13:1-22)
In the Book of Immanuel (Isaiah 6-12), we learned of the coming Root and Shoot of Jesse whose messianic kingdom would spread to the ends of the earth. Now, we come to a section in Isaiah where God asserts His worldwide dominion, showing how the nations will all ultimately be humbled and brought under the reign of His King and Messiah. In this chapter, specifically, we see the process begin with Babylon.
